It is an ideal hotel with amazing interior design, magnificent location near many nice restaurants, shopping areas and the metro station is close by as well as a pedestrian shopping street.

Not the easiest place to get to through the one-way systems of Lyon but in a great central location. The hotel looks unprepossessing from the outside and the rooms might possibly be a turn-off for some as they have a bit of an old-fashioned appearance but ours was clean and spacious and we overlooked the Rue Victor Hugo which was nice. It is just south of the Place Bellecour so all the restaurants and bars north of there are within 10 minutes walk. There is a metro station just by the hotel if you want to go further afield.I'd stay in the Alexandra again.

The decoration of the hotel Alexandra is very much what you can expect from a one-star-hotel. However, our room was clean and big and we even had an own bathroom eventhough in the reservation it was said to be shared with others. The hotel is quite well located in the near of the shopping area and not far from the old town. It is also easily accessible from the train station Perrache. Good place to stay if you don't want to spend too much money on the hotel. The hotel is also flexible on the check-out time (7a.m.-12) and there is a possibility to leave your luggage in the hotel reception if you are leaving in the evening. Special thanks must be given to the hotel staff who was always really friendly and helpful!
There is no elevator in the hotel, so you have to climb up many stairs to reach the 4th or 5th floor. This is, however, completely understandable when talking about a one-star-hotel. Do not expect a magnificent view from the hotel window, as all you can see are the roofs of the other buildings.

Just a suitable option for a short break in Lyon with good value. The location close to the old town was great for exploring. Try to avoid the rooms facing the square if you want a good night's sleep.

The hotel is a very traditional building in the traditional district of Lyon, but the room has been beauitifully renovated. A renovated room in a historic building is the best combination. The girl in the reception is also nice, kind and helpful.
